Peoria, AZ (August 9, 2019)- Peoria police are investigating a wrong-way crash that occurred on a Loop-101 off-ramp that left both drivers hospitalized early Friday morning, August 9th. The incident occurred around 3:00A.M. when Peoria police officers responded to a report of a wrong-way driver that occurred on the 85th Avenue and Northern Avenue off-ramp of the Loop-101.
According to investigators, entered the Northern Avenue off-ramp of the Loop-101 where it collided into another vehicle before making it onto the highway and into oncoming traffic.
First responders arrived and transported both drivers to a nearby hospital where they were treated for their injuries. Medical staff could not comment on the extent of the victims injuries. Authorities have also determined that they believe that impairment played a factor in the collision. The roadway remained closed while police conducted their investigation.
