A woman died on Monday night in Mesa after she was hit by two vehicles while crossing the street.
The incident occurred at the intersection of 8th Avenue and Stapley.
The woman was crossing 8th Avenue at the time of the accident, but she was not in the crosswalk, according to authorities.
The first driver who hit the woman stopped to help, but before the driver could reach her, the woman was hit by another car.
The second vehicle fled the scene, but authorities later caught up with him. They believe he was impaired.
