A woman who was babysitting a pit bull as a favor to a friend was attacked by the dog and nearly killed, according to the Glendale Police.
The woman was in an apartment located at 60th Avenue and Bethany Home Road with her friend.
The dog attacked her and bit her in the back of the neck and on her leg. Her friend attempted to pull the dog of her, but the dog started to bite him instead.
Neighbors heard their screams and called 911. They tried to pull the dog off of her, but it latched onto her face and refused to let go.
When police arrived, they were forced to shoot and kill the dog.
The woman and the man were brought to the hospital for treatment for severe injuries. The owner of the dog was arrested.
