Phoenix, AZ – A young boy that was unrestrained in vehicle died in a crash on April 30, 2012. The driver was charged with and extreme DUI and is allegedly being held on multiple charges.

The person behind the wheel where the child was gravely injured was a 19-year-old man. He was allegedly growing impatient when another vehicle slowed him down from the high speeds he traveling in. The young boy was riding unrestrained on the front seat. In a desperate attempt to pass the slow vehicle, he crashed head-on with an oncoming pickup truck which he failed to see.
The impact of the crash made the boy hit the dash of the car with great force. This left the boy in severe condition with serious injuries.
Paramedics transported the injured boy to a Phoenix trauma center where he died. Physicians did the best they could to save his life to no avail.
After investigating the accident, police have found another person guilty in death of the young boy, a 21-year-old woman. According to The Republic, and online publication, the woman is the child’s mother. Her negligence in this accident was the reason why police are charging her with child abuse. Of the three child safety seats inside the car, she failed to restrain the boy in any of them.
The 19-year-old driver is held on suspicion of manslaughter, aggravated assault and extreme DUI.
