The Tucson resident was heading eastbound when he entered the median. He struck a Palo Verde tree. The collision continued onto the westbound lane.
Two Stafford residents hauling a trailer on the westbound lane were caught in the collision.
The Tucson man was not wearing his seatbelt and died on impact. The Stafford men were wearing a seatbelt and did not suffer major injuries. They were treated on the scene and one was hospitalized with minor injuries.
