Tucson, AZ (November 24, 2018) - A motorcyclist has died following a 2-vehicle collision in Tucson’s east side Saturday evening November 24, 2018. The Tucson Police Department identified the motorcyclist as 66-year old Stephen Florio. Florio was killed in the collision near the intersection of East 22nd Street and Fordham Drive. According to a preliminary investigation, Florio was riding his motorcycle south on Fordham Drive when a vehicle pulled out in front of him.
The driver of the vehicle crossed in front of Florio who attempted to stop. Florio was wearing his helmet and slid into the vehicle that was pulling out. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
The driver of the other vehicle was identified as a 16-year old boy. He remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. There didn’t seem to be any speeding involved or any impairment factors during the accident, according to the Tucson Police Department.The investigation is ongoing but there is no charges or citations made as of Saturday night.
