Two teens died after crashing with a semi-truck on their way to a hockey game Monday night. Investigators claim this collision is one of the worse that has taken place in Surprise, AZ lately.
On their way to the Phoenix Coyotes hokey game, the two 16 year old boys and their vehicle t-boned a Basha’s grocery store delivery truck. The semi-truck flipped over and their car was destroyed beyond recognition. Investigators had to use the VIN to identify the car’s model.
Both 16-year olds died on the scene. Experts determined that the collision was so severe seat belts could not have prevented their death. The truck driver was airlifted to a nearby Phoenix hospital and is in serious but stable condition.
Neither alcohol nor drugs were the cause of the accident.
The accident remains under investigation.
