Tucson, AZ (September 30, 2019)- Tucson Police Department has identified the teen boy who was killed in a fatal collision in Tucson’s west side Sunday morning, September 30th. According to police, 16-year old Kristiano Roman Yslava Owen and a young passenger were traveling southbound on Greasewood Road at an excessively high rate of speed.
Owens began to drift into the northbound lanes of Greasewood Road at Star Pass Boulevard and struck a cinder block wall on the eastern side of the road. Owen, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported by ambulance to Banner-University Medical Center where he was treated for life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving according to medical personnel. Owen’s young passenger, who was wearing his seatbelt, was also taken to Banner-University Medical Center where he was treated for minor injuries. Detectives determined that speed was a factor in the collision. The investigation remains ongoing. No charges or citations have been issued at this time.
