A motorcyclist was left for dead on the side of Guadalupe Road in Mesa on Tuesday after being involved in a hit-and-run accident.
According to the report, the motorcyclist was traveling westbound with a female passenger on the back of his motorcycle when a Chevrolet Corvette turned into his path. The motorcycle rider was forced to lay down his motorcycle to avoid a direct impact.
The driver of the Corvette then sped off and exited the road onto northbound Extension.
The motorcyclist was left with a fractured skull, internal bleeding and head injuries. The passenger of the motorcycle was not seriously injured.
Police said that they are still looking for the driver and they are unsure if speed or impairment affected the crash. According to one police officer the main contributing factor in the accident was failure to yield.
