A police officer was seriously injured on an eat Valley freeway on Friday night when his patrol car was struck from behind.
The accident occurred as the officer was transporting two other motorists off the freeway from a previous accident. The crash happened at the on-ramp from eastbound Interstate 10 to the eastbound U.S. 60 at around 9:30 p.m.
The officer’s injuries were reportedly serious and he was transported to the hospital. The two passengers in his car also suffered injuries.
The patrol car suffered extensive damage on both the front and rear ends.
