Three different locations in the Phoenix area will hold an event on Saturday to ensure that car seats are installed properly.
It is a federal law that all children wear a safety belt while in the car and children under a certain age or weight must use a safety seat.
This is important to remember because car seats save lives every year, but they are usually installed incorrectly.
The event, called the Maricopa Safe Kids 14th Annual Car Seat Event, will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
There will be certified child seat safety technicians there to demonstrate how to properly install a car seat.
The North Phoenix Baptist Church at 5757 N. Central Avenue will be checking car seats to make sure that they are in the best conditions and meet all of the safety requirements.
In the West Valley, the event will be held at Cabela’s, located at 9380 W. Glendale Ave.
Mesa Community College will hold the event as well. The college is located in the East Valley at 1833 W. Southern Ave.
