Phoenix, AZ – Phoenix Police Department is reporting the death of a pedestrian who was killed in a hit-and-run collision in West Phoenix early Tuesday morning, March 3rd. The incident occurred near 43rd Avenue and McDowell Road sometime around 6:30 A.M. when officers responded to a report of a pedestrian in the road. The victim, identified as a man, was found in the roadway and was pronounced dead by first responders.
The driver who struck the victim fled the scene and did not stay to render aid to the victim. Officials are working on a vehicle description. The area is expected to be blocked for the investigation for several hours.
