The Pinal County Sheriff's Office is investigating a hit-and-run incident that left a pedestrian dead on a portion of Hunt Highway in the San Tan Valley area early Thursday morning, Dec. 28th. Pinal County Sherriff deputies responded to a report of a crash on Hunt Highway around 9:30 a.m. PCSO Public Information Officer Navideh Forghani would not confirm if there was an accident or fatalities in the area while the incident was being investigated, but later said that the incident was a hit-and-run that involved a pedestrian.
Aerial footage showed investigators at the scene and what appeared to be a body under a white sheet. Pinal County Public Works was asked to close Hunt Highway between Johnson Ranch Boulevard and Thistle Trail while deputies investigated the incident. Pinal County spokesman Joe Pyritz said there was no estimated time for re-opening.
