Several vehicles collided on Loop 101 in Peoria on Saturday afternoon, leaving at least one person severely injured, according to the Department of Public Safety.
The accident occurred just before 1 p.m. and several northbound lanes had to be closed for about two hours to investigate and clear the accident.
There was serious damage to all of the vehicles involved with the accident. At least, one of the people involved in the crash was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The accident remains under investigation.
