Phoenix, AZ (October 19, 2018) – Six people were critically injured in a Friday night crash in Phoenix, officials said. Authorities received initial reports of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of 27th Avenue and Indian School Road shortly before 8:30 p.m. Although initial calls indicated that two vehicles were involved, witness accounts recall that at least one other vehicle may have been involved as well.
Multiple witnesses reported to officials that they had heard a tire blow out, causing the crash. Others told police and news sources that they witnessed a car veering into the path of a van, striking it and then another vehicle. According to Phoenix Fire Department, six people were seriously injured, and three others were treated for minor to moderate injuries. Details were scarce as authorities continue the investigation.
