Phoenix, AZ (February 27, 2019) – Phoenix Police have identified a motorcyclist who was killed following a fatal collision in Phoenix Wednesday evening, February 27th. According to investigators, 37-year old motorcyclist Anthony Gonzalez was traveling eastbound on West Dunlap Avenue approaching 39th Avenue when his motorcycle was struck by a PT Cruiser that was attempting to turn left onto 39th Avenue.
Phoenix Fire Department was the first on scene and transported Gonzalez via ambulance to a nearby hospital. Gonzalez was later pronounced dead by medical staff. Officers say that Gonzalez was wearing a helmet at the time of the fatal collision. The driver of the PT Cruiser was identified as a 76-year old woman. Police state that impairment is not suspected and that alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the collision.
