A mother and her 3 daughters are hospitalized with serious injuries after they were struck by a pickup truck at an intersection in Phoenix Monday morning, Nov. 27th. According to Phoenix Police Department, a 22-year old man was driving a pickup truck eastbound on Campbell Avenue when he turned left on northbound 19th street. As the driver turned left he struck a 36-year old mother along with her 3 daughters aged, 6-years old, 7-years old, and 11- years old, as they were crossing inside the marked crosswalk. All 4 victims were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital to be treated for their injuries.
The 36-yeal old mother, her 6- year old daughter and her 11-year old daughter all suffered serious injuries. The 7-year old daughter sustained life-threatening injuries and is listed in critical condition by medical staff. The driver of the pickup truck remained on scene and cooperated with Phoenix police but was subsequently arrested a few hours later after he exhibited signs and symtoms of impairment. Investigators have not released the name of that 22-year-old man. The intersection was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
