Sections of Power and Germann road intersections were closed while officers and paramedics attended to a fallen motorcycle officer who was struck when a car was making a turn. The motorcycle officer was heading south near the Gilbert-Queen Creek border when a sedan made an unexpected left in front of him. The sedan struck the front side of the motorcycle and ejected the officer onto the road.
The officer suffered injuries to his legs. Paramedics transported the fallen officer to a local hospital where he was treated for moderate injuries and was diagnosed with a broken leg.
The intersection was re-opened after investigators had gathered enough evidence from the scene.
