According to officials, a man died on Tuesday afternoon after driving his car into the median wall on Loop 101 in Scottsdale.
The man was traveling northbound just before the Princess Drive exit when the accident occurred.
The driver was the only person in the car and no other vehicles were involved.
The accident caused a traffic backup for miles, and was cleared by 4 p.m.
