A dump truck hit a sport utility vehicle after the SUV ran a red light and veered into a church, knocking down an air conditioning unit on Monday morning.
The accident occurred at the corner of 35th Avenue and Sweetwater in Phoenix.
The driver of the truck had to be cut from the truck with the Jaws of Life and was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
The power was shut off in the area, as crews worked to repair the damage.
The accident is still under investigation.
