Police have caught the hit-and –run driver that left a 58-year-old female pedestrian dead.
The accident happened around 10:15 p.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of Missouri and 27th avenues, according to authorities.
Apparently, the suspect, a 25-year-old male, was driving drunk in a 1997 red Nissan pickup when he struck the woman who was crossing the road. He then drove away from the scene without stopping. Police picked him up a few blocks away from the scene.
According to witnesses, the driver may have had a green light and the woman was crossing without obeying the traffic signals.
The driver was arrested for charges of DUI and leaving the scene of a fatal collision.
