Cornville, AZ (October 3, 2018) - A driver suffered serious injuries after he collided head-on with a semi-truck in Cornville Tuesday morning, October 2nd, according to Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m., as the driver of a 1993 Cadillac sedan traveling westward was attempting to pass another vehicle in a no-passing uphill zone by crossing the center line, the Sheriff’s Office said. At the same time, a semi-truck in the opposite direction directly collided with the Cadillac, unable to avoid crashing into it.
According to a Sheriff’s Office statement, the driver of the semi-truck was readily prepared with a fire extinguisher to put out any potential flames from. The driver of the Cadillac was pinned behind the wheel of his vehicle as Verde Valley fire department crews extricated him from the wreckage, officials said.
