The man, 18-years old, was riding his bicycle southbound on the sidewalk of 4th Avenue. He was approaching 15th Street and as he rode through the intersection he was hit by a white Honda.
The lady driving the Honda was stopped attempting to make a right turn on to 4th Avenue. She did not see the oncoming bicycle, until she struck it at low speeds.
Yuma Fire Department loaded the man onto a stretcher and into an ambulance. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he’ll get treated. He received serious injuries to his feet.
Police have retrieved the bicycle and have not issued citations since both parties committed an infraction.
