A bicyclist was seriously hurt in a collision with an SUV in Scottsdale on Friday. The accident occurred on Via de Ventura, west of Pima Road at 3 p.m.
Apparently, a white Chevrolet SUV was traveling westbound and the bicycle was traveling north at Via de Negocio.
The SUV hit the biker and continued going, apparently trying to escape.
A few minutes afterwards, the SUV returned to the scene and was stopped by officers. Police think that alcohol played a factor in the accident.
The bicyclist was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. It is not clear if he was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
