Mesa, AZ – A head-on car collision leaves on person dead on the streets of Mesa Tuesday night.

A 53-year old pizza delivery man was behind the wheel of a Toyota pickup truck on a pizza delivery route. He was delivering pizza for a private restaurant and was heading westbound on Baseline road through Extension. Another driver, a 49-year old man, on a pizza delivery run for a different pizza restaurant was making a left on Extension road, meeting the other vehicle. They crashed head-on.
Paramedics rushed to the scene of the accident. They found the older pizza delivery man dead at the scene. The other driver was treated for minor injuries and released.
The accident is undergoing investigation by authorities. They do not suspect the drivers of being intoxicated.
