Phoenix, AZ – One person is left in critical condition after a three vehicle accident on Thunderbird Road Saturday morning.

A red pickup truck was traveling westbound on Thunderbird Road preparing to make a left hand turn at around 10:00 a.m. near 41st Avenue. It failed to make the left hand turn then struck a sedan traveling eastbound. The sedan hit another vehicle also traveling eastbound.
Phoenix Fire Department attended the scene of the accident. They transported three people to the hospital, one of them being the truck driver who suffered serious injuries. The other two victims were a child and woman who suffered moderate injuries but remain in stable condition. Four people were treated on the scene for minor injuries and dismissed.
Authorities closed both directions on Thunderbird Road as they cleared and investigated the scene. They are determining whether or not impairment or speed were factors contributing to the accident.
