A 12-year-old boy was riding his bicycle on Monday morning in Scottsdale when he was hit by a pickup truck while he attempted to cross the street.
The accident occurred at 9:15 a.m. at the corner of Frank Lloyd Wright and Thompson Peak Parkway.
The boy was crossing through a crosswalk and had the green light. The truck, driven by a 49-year-old man, was attempting to make a left-hand turn when he hit the boy.
The boy was taken to the hospital with multiple fractures and head trauma. He is expected to survive.
The driver was cited for his involvement in the collision.
