Police say that a woman who was hit twice by two different cars on Route 66 in Flagstaff early Tuesday morning is lucky to be alive.
Sgt. James Jackson of the Flagstaff Police Department said that officers responded to the scene just after 4:00 a.m. where they learned that a woman had been hit by a semi-truck.
The truck driver was at the scene and told police that he did not see the woman, who was in the roadway. After hitting her, he kept driving until he realized that he had hit a person and turned around and called the police.
While he was calling the police, another vehicle had struck the woman.
The woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The accident is under investigation.
