An older woman on a motorized scooter was hospitalized with severe injuries after being hit by a semi while crossing a Phoenix street.
The woman was crossing 51st Avenue near Indian School Road when she was hit by a U.S. Postal Service trailer truck.
She was trapped under the vehicle and had to be removed by emergency crews, before being taken to the hospital. The fire crew said that her injuries were not life-threatening.
