Glendale, AZ- An active duty airman from Texas dies in a hospital from injuries incurred in a crash that happened on an Arizona road Saturday night.

The Airman, 26-years old, was stationed in Arizona’s Luke Air Force Base as Senior Airman Kenneth M. Lee Jr. He was from San Antonio, Texas.
He was traveling on Interstate-10 sans seatbelt Saturday at about 9:00 p.m. His vehicle lost control for an unknown reason and rolled over once according to chron.com, a Texan online news publication.
Lee was ejected from the vehicle at the time at the crash and suffered serious injuries. Emergency services rushed to transport the airman to a Phoenix hospital but his conditions worsen en route. He died at the hospital.
Detectives investigated the factors behind the crash. Neither alcohol nor drug intoxication played a part. What is being investigated is the unknown: whether speed or other vehicles were a factor in the accident. They are not sure if there was another vehicle that was there at the time of the crash and are searching for witnesses who can help answer this question. What is allegedly for sure is the fact that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Lee had been a member of the 56th Equipment Maintenance Squadron at Luke since 2008. He was a part of the munitions maintenance crew.
