Rio Rico, AZ – There were two accidents on Interstate-19 and a heavy amount of hail that created driving hazards on Rio Rico roads Wednesday.

The first of two accidents occurred at about 11:45 a.m. near kilometer 21. It was a two-vehicle collision. Three people were injured and transported to University Medical Center in Tucson.
At kilometer 19 at about 2:50 p.m. there was a single-vehicle rollover. One person was injured and transported to UMC according to Nogales International.
A thunderstorm blanketed sections of Rio Rico with inches of hail. Ice and storm hazards forced many people to keep their vehicles off the road including school busses. Temperatures dropped below 51 F.
Neither accident was weather related.
