Gilbert, AZ – An illegal street racing accident leaves two people injured and one person arrested Sunday morning.

The accident happened at around 10 a.m. on Pecos Road near Ranch House Parkway. The two vehicles were racing at a high speed westbound on Pecos Road when one of them, a Chevy lost control and caught on fire.
The Chevy swerved off road and hit a fire hydrant causing it to roll over. The driver and a passenger were ejected from the vehicle as it rolled over in flames.
Both were airlifted to a trauma center where they are expected to recover. They suffered broken bones.
There were two people in the other vehicle racing that stopped to help. The passenger was arrested on a warrant for undisclosed charges.
