Phoenix, AZ – A man and a woman are in serious condition after being shot by a thieve Wednesday night.
A gunman shot a man and a woman close to 48th Street and Virginia Avenue after 9:00 p.m. The male victim was shot on the neck when he tried to protect the woman.

The gunman demanded money and cell phone from the woman. The male victim who was riding his bicycle when he witnessed the incident intervened to protect the woman. After shooting both victims the gunman fled the scene.
Paramedics rushed the victims to hospital. The man is in critical condition. Information on the female victim has not been made available.
