Buckeye, AZ (October 9, 2018) – According to officials, one person died Tuesday morning, October 9th, in a serious three-vehicle collision on Interstate 10. The crash occurred at around 6:30 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of I-10 at Watson Road near milepost 117, and prompted response from the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Initial investigations determined that the driver of a sedan was traveling westbound on I-10 and sideswiped a commercial truck, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The sedan veered over the median and collided with another commercial truck in the opposing westbound lanes. The driver of the sedan died at the scene, the damage to the vehicle extensive, officials said. Details regarding drivers’ identity and additional injuries were sparse as officials did not disclose further information. Eastbound lanes of the I-10 were closed for several hours during investigations and cleanup.
