Tucson, AZ (September 24, 2018) – A serious crash involving eight vehicles occurred in Tucson Monday morning, September 24th, injured three and impacted traffic around the intersection of Speedway and Wilmot, Tucson Fire Department said. TFD extricated multiple people in wreckages from the crash, which involved a large recycling truck.
Three women were sent to the hospital with two of them in critical condition, and five others involved in the crash were assessed with no major injuries, said Tucson police officer Ray Smith. According to Smith and other police department investigators, speed was determined to be a factor. The westbound lanes were closed for several hours as investigations and emergency services were underway.
