2 people were killed and 4 other individuals were injured following a roller-over crash between 2 vehicles on the northbound Interstate 19 Tuesday morning near San Xavier Indian Reservation, about 17 miles southwest of Tucson. According to an Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesperson, the incident happened at 3:00 p.m. when a blue Honda SUV crossed over the center median and struck a pickup truck which caused both vehicles to roll-over. 5 of the 6 occupants of the Honda SUV were ejected from the vehicle during the collision.
First responders arrived and pronounced 2 individuals from the Honda SUV dead at the scene. The others 4 individuals were transported by ambulance to Tucson hospitals suffering from non-life threatening injuries. Only one lane of travel is currently open on I-19 northbound at San Xavier according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. All 4 injured individuals are expected to survive.
