Blanca Carbajal, a 37-year-old resident from El Mirage, was killed on Friday when a car hit her and then fled the scene, according to the El Mirage Police Department.
Carbajal was crossing Thunderbird Road when she was hit by the car at around 6:40 p.m.
She was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital where she later died of her injuries. Police are still seeking the driver responsible for the accident.
